(July 21, 2008) -- Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-Lakeville, sent a letter to the governor Thursday requesting state aid due to the elimination of 1,400 jobs at Monaco. Those jobs will be lost by mid-September. "I will be offering legislation in January, asking to suspend the sales tax on the purchase of RVs in Indiana, hoping to bump up production and bringing movement back into our Hoosier RV industry," she said.

Greg Blackman opposes the RV park. “Would you want to move 175 drug addicts, alcoholics and sexual predators into your neighborhoods?,” he asked.

(May 9, 2008) -- Thieves have been hitting up RV storage sites in Rio Rancho over the past few weeks. Police told Action 7 News that thieves are breaking the windows and stealing expensive electronics from inside.

(April 22, 2008) -- After two months of delays, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Monday to enforce county code requiring a public health inspection of RVs rented for less than 30 days.

This requirement means that the units will be comparable to conventional U.S. homes, where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say indoor air concentrations of formaldehyde typically range from .010 to .030 ppm.

(April 8, 2008) -- The new ordinance doesn’t ban the year-round storage of big boats, boat trailers and RVs, as the original ordinance would have done. It just requires the boat, boat trailer or RV be registered and that it be “in a condition for [the] safe and effective performance of the function for which it was intended.”

(April 2, 2008) -- By a 4-1 vote, Brevard County commissioners today agreed to hold public hearings on proposed revisions to codes governing how RVs and recreational vehicles may be parked at unincorporated homes on lots of half an acre or less.

(March 10, 2008) -- City enforcement officer Gerald Steele says RVs have to be parked so they are even with the back edge of a house. Steele says people who don't move their RVs face a misdemeanor charge.

(March 6, 2008) -- RVs can be parked on streets or the owner's property ,but not on the boulevards from May 1 to Oct. 1. RVs must be parked adjacent to the owner’s or host’s property with wheels chocked. If electricity or water are hooked to the equipment where they cross a sidewalk, they must be covered by an approved speed bump/cable protector.

(Feb. 28, 2008) -- The large vehicle ordinance would put a ban on any trailer, RV or camper that is over 20-feet in length from being parked in a driveway for any substantial amount of time. There would be 48-hour exceptions for vehicles less than 33-feet long - so they could be loaded for trips.

(Feb. 26, 2008) -- Sierra Club claims people are being embalmed alive in FEMA trailers. Democrat congressman estimates it will take FEMA 47 weeks to move everyone out of trailers if the agency maintains its relocation pace of 800 families per week.
