MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — At this year’s National RV Trade Show In Louisville, Ky., Jayco unveils its newest compact Class C motorhome, the Precept -- a contemporary RV that offers the “total package” of high-class features, luxury car performance and excellent fuel efficiency.
Powered by a Mercedes-Benz 3.0-L CDI 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine that delivers the best fuel mileage in the motorhome category and built on the rugged and durable Dodge Sprinter chassis, the Precept offers excellent drivability and handling. Much like a high-performance car, the Precept boasts features to enhance driving pleasure, including a Mercedes 5-speed transmission with overdrive, 180-amp alternator, cruise control and power anti-lock brakes with power steering and skid control.
The Precept’s kitchen and bathroom areas are the perfect combination of modern, stylish and functional, with features that include curved Euro-style cabinetry with curved drawers and doors, convection microwave, 6-cubic foot refrigerator, three-burner cooktop with high-output piezo igniter, nickel hardware, shower skylight and contemporary stainless steel sink bowl in the bathroom.
The Precept’s impressive list of additional standard features includes a 19-inch digital LCD high-definition television, cable TV hookup with RG-6 coax, Onan 3,200-watt Quiet Diesel generator with auto-changeover, halogen lighting throughout, outdoor media center and Carefree patio awning.
The customer value package showcases a multi-media premium in-dash LCD touch screen with AM/FM/CD/WB, satellite radio prep, back up camera and monitor; deluxe remote-control, heated sideview mirrors; pleated day/night shades throughout; portable outside gas grill; bathroom power vent; 6-gallon gas/electric DSI auto-ignition water heater and upgraded leather driver and passenger seat.
Several options are available on the Precept, including a 400-watt inverter, Diamond Shield paint protection film, front entertainment center with 32-inch LD high-definition television, leather furniture, premium paint package, privacy night shades in windshield and driver/passenger windows and satellite kit.
