MILLERSBURG, Ind. -- Carriage RV Company announced today that its preliminary sales figures showed the company posted an increase in sales of more than 10 percent during fiscal year 2008, which closes today.
The manufacturer of high-end travel trailers and fith wheels attributed the increase to having the right products in the right markets, and in having a loyal, supportive sales force.
"We enjoyed considerable momentum with our products going into the downturn," said Don Emahiser, vice president of sales and marketing. "The product seems to work well in the high-end RV markets we are trying to reach."
Emahiser credited his dealers for being able to move the products in a down economy. "That's a testimony not only to the quality of products we sell, but in the quality of RV dealers who sell the Carriage brand," he explained. "Our dealers have been very loyal to us through this time. They seem very supportive and willing to help us do whatever it takes to pull us through. We've honored their loyalty by building products they can sell and that we are willing to stand behind."
The company is planning a special 40th anniversary display next week at the National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky. Emahiser invited dealers to stop by their booth to walk through the products and enjoy free lunch.
