(Dec. 29, 2007) -- Surprisingly the median sale price rose 4.2 percent in the month which left prices down only 0.4 percent relative to year ago levels. However, the price series for new home sales is extremely volatile and a quick return to double digit annual declines cannot be ruled out.

(Dec. 27, 2007) -- The fire, reported at 11:21 a.m., was sparked when an engine in one of the RVs backfired after the owner started it up, siad Riverside County Fire Captain Fernando Herrera. Fifteen firefighters doused the four RVs and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles parked tightly in rows on a fenced dirt lot.

(Dec. 27, 2007) -- The minimal increase in new orders despite the sizeable increase in aircraft orders raises concern about business investment being able to effectively offset the weakness in residential investment. Business investment is already viewed as being at risk with the recent tightening in credit conditions.

(Dec. 27, 2007) -- While consumers are less negative about the near-term future, they remain far from optimistic. Furthermore, persistent declines in the Present Situation Index indicate the economy is still losing momentum. In fact, in assessing the current job market, pessimists now outnumber optimists. Regarding business conditions, the gap between the two is almost nonexistent.

(Dec. 26, 2007) -- As official outdoor and RV retailer, Camping World will have stronger ability to sell supplies to RVers at NASCAR events. This deal is in addition to the series sponsorship announced earlier. Terms of this deal were not released, but it is believed to be valued in the low seven figures annually, according to industry analysts. The official status deal and title sponsorship will run concurrently through the 2012 season.

The project developer announced it was withdrawing the plan after citing multiple problems, including economics.

(Dec. 24, 2007) -- Pete Walker, who dressed as Santa, and his wife, Nancy, organized the whole trip - 33 stops in all - to deliver gifts to 15 senior citizens and 75 children. Nancy Walker contacted the Volunteer Action Center and signed up for the Un-Trim a Tree Holiday Program, which pairs donors with seniors and children who might otherwise have a Christmas with few or no presents.
